Internet Safety Tips
Your safety is our priority. Please read these guidelines before connecting with other members.
Protect Your Personal Information
- Never share your home address, workplace, or financial details with someone you have just met online.
- Be cautious about sharing your phone number or social media profiles until you have built trust.
- Use a strong, unique password for your Two Hearts account and never share it with anyone.
Recognise Red Flags
- Be wary of anyone who quickly professes strong feelings, asks for money, or claims to be in urgent need.
- Romance scammers often create compelling but false backstories. If something feels off, trust your instincts.
- Be suspicious if someone avoids video calls or in-person meetings after extended contact.
- Never send money, gift cards, or financial information to someone you have not met in person.
Meeting In Person
- Meet for the first time in a busy, public place during daylight hours.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you are meeting.
- Arrange your own transport — do not rely on your date for a lift home.
- Keep your phone charged and have an exit plan.
Report Suspicious Behaviour
If a member makes you feel uncomfortable, harasses you, or sends inappropriate content, please report them immediately using the in-app report feature or by emailing us at safety@twohearts.tranmer.ca. We take all reports seriously.
Online Wellbeing
- Take breaks — online dating can be emotionally taxing. Look after yourself.
- Block any member who makes you feel unsafe. You can always unblock later.
- If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services (911 in Canada and the USA).
